The images displayed on the main page, as well as all linked images that have filenames of the form p3-xxxxxxx, are photographs taken by John Zaitseff or on his camera during the Slavic Pentecostal Church Conference at Point Wolstoncroft, New South Wales, Australia. The xxxxxxx represents the digital negative number in Photograph Series P3. For example, an image having the name p3-0000517 represents digital negative number 517 (also written as “P3/517”).
Up to five types of images are available on this page: (a) thumbnail-sized images in JPEG format (a lossy medium-quality format that is fairly small in disk space), (b) small-sized images in JPEG format, (c) full-sized images in JPEG format, (d) full-sized images in Canon Camera RAW2 format (a high-quality proprietary format directly from the camera), and (e) full-sized images in Adobe Digital Negative format (a high-quality open-standard archival digital negative format).
Thumbnail images are typically 180 × 120 pixels in size and are useful only for quick image identification (as used on the main page).
Small-sized images are typically 750 × 500 pixels in size (roughly 14% of the original image size). These images are suitable for viewing on the screen; printing them at 150 dpi gives a relatively low-quality picture 127 × 85 mm in size.
Full-size images are typically 5184 × 3456 pixels, as taken on an 17.9 MP camera. Printing the images at 300 dpi (a typical resolution of ink-jet printers and of photo paper) gives a medium-quality picture 438 × 293 mm in size.
