Bidjigal Reserve

★★★☆☆

Bidjigal Reserve is one of the nicest urban walks in Sydney that I have done. The reserve was once the home of the Dharug people and now protects some 300 hectares of creeks, forests and wildlife. On my walk I explored two of the tracks in the reserve, the Burraga Track marked by yellow bandicoot symbols (Burraga is the Darug word for bandicoot) and the Platypus Track, marked by blue platypus symbols. I especially liked the lower sections of the tracks that follow the creeks. The verdant rainforest along these sections was very beautiful, reminiscent of the Blue Mountains or Barrington Tops. I thoroughly enjoyed this walk and would readily do this one again.
