Parramatta River Cycle

This easy circuit along the foreshores of the Parramatta River makes for a great cycle and so is very popular with the locals. Even with inclement weather, there were many people out and about on the Saturday morning, cycling, jogging or walking their dogs. The shared pathway follows the Parramatta Valley cycleway from Ermington to Meadowbank, then loops through Rhodes to Bicentennial Park and Sydney Olympic Park to finish back at Newington. There are lots of options to either shorten or extend this track.

The section through Rhodes and Badu Mangroves were the highlights for me, particularly the shipwrecks in Homebush Bay. The nearby Ring Walk and Newington Armory are well worth a visit if you have time. Unfortunately, with rain already beginning to come down, I had to skip these and instead race back to Wilson Park where I began my ride. I still very much enjoyed my morning out.
