The images displayed on the main page, as well as all linked images that have filenames of the form p0-xxxx-xx, are photographs taken by John Zaitseff or on his camera during the Slavic Pentecostal Church Conference in Mylor, South Australia. The xxxx represents the roll number and xx represents the negative number. For example, an image having the name p0-0294-10 represents roll 294, negative 10 (also written as “P0/294.10”).
Three types of images are available on this page: (a) thumbnail-sized images in JPEG format (a lossy medium-quality format that is fairly small in disk space), (b) thumbnail-sized images in PNG format (a high-quality graphics format), and (c) full-sized images in PNG format.
Thumbnail images are typically 560 × 365 pixels in size; these have been created by scanning the negative film at 400 dpi. These images are suitable for viewing on the screen; printing them at 100 dpi gives a relatively low-quality picture 142 × 93 mm in size.
Full-size images are typically 5500 × 3600 pixels in size; these have been created by scanning the negative film at 4000 dpi using four passes and appropriate post-processing. This makes the photo an equivalent of one taken on a 19 megapixel camera. Printing the images at 300 dpi (a typical resolution of ink-jet printers and of photo paper) gives a high-quality picture 466 × 305 mm in size.

John Zaitseff’s photos were taken on a Canon EOS 33 film camera using a 24–85 mm USM lens and a Speedlite 430EX flash. Agfa Vista 100N was used for the negative film. The negatives were scanned using a Nikon Coolscan 5000ED film scanner at either 400 or 4000 dpi.
